Beetles are extremely diverse and highly variable in shape, color, size, and behavior. Perhaps the most diverse group of animals with over 300,000 described species. Some well-known beetles are lady beetles, june bugs, and fireflies. Some beetle species visit flowers to feed on pollen and nectar.
